ABOUT

A native of Toronto, Canada, Elissa has been contributing to the dance music scene for over 20 years.  Her talents have led her to tour the world in places such as Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Vancouver, California, Miami, New York and Europe.  She has been featured on over 100 compilations worldwide released by Universal Music, Sony Music and top dance labels internationally.

Elissa turned heads in North America with her first single "Show Me How You Love Me".  In 1996, this pop dance track bubbled under the Billboard Hot 100's chart giving her a first taste of radio success in Canada and the United States.

In 1999, she released her first massive hit "Bailando".  It was one of the most requested songs on radio and charted on both the National CHR and Dance Charts.  Till this day, it is a club favourite worldwide putting Elissa on the map as a recording artist.

Her next release "Mamboleo" was a Top 20 hit on the National CHR Charts and debut as the #6 top selling single in Canada in late 1999.  "Mamboleo" earned Elissa heavy rotation on Kiss 98.5 FM Buffalo across the border from her hometown in Toronto and made its way to international success.  "Mamboleo" earned Elissa two Canadian Music Radio Award nominations for Best New Solo Artist and Best Rhythmic/R&B Artist.

In 2000, Elissa held the #1 position with her single "Back To Me" on Toronto's hit music station Z103.5 FM Freestyle Frenzy program.  She also received great support and heavy weekend rotation on the Johnny Budz Mix show on WKTU 103.5 FM in New York.  "Back To Me" started charting in other countries and became a #1 hit on Brazilian dance and radio charts.

In 2002, her first house single "The Light" won a Canadian Indies Award and a nomination for a Juno Award (equivalent to a U.S. Grammy) in the Best Dance Recording category.

2005 led Elissa to a few projects.  Her release of the Radikal DJ's "If Tomorrow Never Comes" charted in both Canada and Singapore.  Following this hit, Elissa released "Dream" in Singapore and it led to a #12 spot in the year end countdown on Singapore's hit radio station WKRZ 91.3 FM.  This caught the attention of the team behind the Cascada project and Elissa gladly gave her writing credits for this single as it was re-released in Europe for dance recording artist Akira.

In 2006, Elissa took America by storm with her single featuring producer Russ Castella titled "Truth". It hit the promotional circut with a high demand from U.S. Dj's.  The song was remixed by 2011 Grammy Nominee DJ/Producer Mike Rizzo.

By 2007, after a successful run in the dance community, Elissa released her greatest hits CD "I'm With The DJ".  It included all of her chart topping hits as well as new productions from the same team that put together Latin Canadian artist Fito Blanko's CHR/International hits.  She ended that year on various dance charts in Russia with her single released with the Italian production team EU4YA.  "Tanti Auguri" was released on 12 dance compilations that year, including a MTV Russia CD alongside Cristina Aguilera, Crystal Waters, JoJo, Akon and many more.

2009 showed dance fans that Elissa hadn't lost her touch when her collab titled "Your Love Still Haunts Me" with Florida's production team Beat Thrillerz landed them a distribution release with Universal Music Canada and a #1 spot on BPM TV Top 20 Video Charts.  The track received airplay in Canada and the U.S. and it also included a remix by DJ/Producer Cajjmere Wray who has also officially remixed songs such as On The Floor by J-Lo, Only Girl by Rihanna and Paparazzi by Lady Gaga.

Taking a brief pause from the music scene, Elissa's music career moved in a new direction.  She was featured on MC Flipside's releases "Outta Control" and "All My Ladies".  These tracks showed her strong vocal and writing abilities.  MC Flipside is Canada's most globally recognized DJ/Vocalist/Producer.  His collaborative projects include releases with Deadmau5, Hatiras and Wolfgang Gartner to name a few.

Elissa's 2013/2014 releases were focused on European countries such as Sweden and Italy.  Her production "Tonight" feat M2o morning show radio personalities Simone Girasole and Asco introduced her to Italian Label "Dance & Love" owned by Eiffel 65 member and DJ Gabry Ponte.  This single charted on M2o radio Italy.  Her follow up single was released in 2015 titled “Sugar” and was also played across Europe.

Elissa took a personal break from music from 2014-2021 performing live when possible.  Her newest freestyle release titled "Now You're Gone" has been creating a buzz in Canada, California, Miami and New York in just two weeks of the promo release date with Miami Indie label Destune Records. The song is bringing the freestyle vibe back to the fans who have been waiting for her return.  There is more to come, stay tuned.
